ABOUT THEODOSIA

Welcome to Theodosia

Welcome to the Village of Theodosia, Missouri — a small Ozarks community with a rich history, strong sense of community, and a beautiful setting near Bull Shoals Lake.

Theodosia is proud of its small-town character and the people who call our community home. We are committed to maintaining a safe, welcoming, and well-cared-for community while preserving the qualities that make Theodosia a special place to live, work, visit, and enjoy the Ozarks.

Our Community

The Village of Theodosia is located in southern Ozark County along U.S. Highway 160, surrounded by the natural beauty of the Missouri Ozarks and Bull Shoals Lake.

Our community offers the peaceful atmosphere of a small town while providing convenient access to the lake, outdoor recreation, fishing, boating, camping, local businesses, and the many natural attractions of the Ozarks.

Most importantly, Theodosia is a community of neighbors. Residents, local businesses, volunteers, community organizations, and village officials all have an important role in making our community a great place to live.

A Rich History

Theodosia’s history reaches back well before the present-day Village. The original community of Theodosia developed along the Little North Fork of the White River. When Bull Shoals Lake was created, the original town was affected by the rising waters, and the community that we know today developed farther west along what is now U.S. Highway 160.

Theodosia was officially incorporated as a municipality in 1963. Today, the Village continues the traditions and community spirit that have been part of this area for generations.
